Joshua Leon asked artist and photographer Luuk Smits to photograph his exhibition ‘Attendance(s) close to the close’ with a different approach than the usual exhibition photography. Luuk Smits responded to this request by making a serie of 114 photos through the eyes of being a visitor and a colleague artist at the same time . Smits’ starting place was his own studio in the artist run initiative Het Wilde Weten, a few streets away from Daily Practice.
Luuk Smits opens the envelope with keys and instructions of Daily Practice, walks through the winter streets, opens the door of Daily Practice, makes himself a coffee and looks around, is sometimes distracted. When finished he closes the door again and makes a last photo of the facade of Daily Practice. This happened on 10Feb 2021.
